Optometric examination at BEEKS Zien en Horen

At BEEKS Zien en Horen, you can book an optometric examination with or without a referral from your GP. Thanks to our short waiting times, you’ll be helped quickly. Optometry focuses on the early detection and assessment of eye conditions - always with care and attention for your vision.

What to expect

During the examination, we carefully measure your eyes. We check your eye pressure and examine the front of the eye. In many cases, your eyes will also be dilated with drops. These drops enlarge the pupils so we can properly assess the inside of the eye.

Please keep in mind:

After dilation, you may be sensitive to light and your vision may be blurry for a few hours. Bring sunglasses. It’s best not to drive yourself.

Next, we examine your eyes using modern equipment:

With the fundus camera, we take a detailed photo of the retina. With the OCT scan, we examine the fine structures of the retina in high detail.

You will almost always receive the results immediately. If necessary, we will refer you to an ophthalmologist through your GP.
